Is Rode NT1a – The best on budget microphone for beginners and amateurs? Yes, it certainly is.
Affordable price, very low noise floor, full equipment included!
About
The Rode NT1A microphone is one of the most used microphones in the world by both beginners and amateurs, with many professionals still using it. It is mostly used for voice recording or voiceover business and singing, specially because of its cheap price and everything that comes with it.
Rode NT1a Bundle
Rode NT1A comes with shock-mount, pop filter, cloth – microphone case and cable. The cable and the case aren’t the best quality, but are good enough for most work. Note that the cable is extremely long.
How to use it?
Rode NT1a has an extremely low noise floor, so it doesn’t catch a lot of noise on its own. The part of the microphone that has golden point is faced towards the mouth, the back side doesn’t record.
Condenser mic – 48V required
The microphone is condenser so you will need 48V phantom power for it, you won’t be able to turn it on without it. Most of today’s interfaces or processors have built-in phantom power, so that’s not really a problem.
Rode delivers exceptional sound quality in every part of frequency spectrum. The only downside may be creating strong sibilance sounds, but that can be solved with the help of software. How I use it, take a listen on my sample page.
Price
The PRICE is great considering what you get for it. The entire kit is priced at $228. Amazon product purchase and review link: https://amzn.to/2Eecb6T
According to my recommendation, great microphone for beginners, amateurs, but also professionals who are a little short on money.
